At over 100,000 acres of protected land, the region is one of the largest protected preserves in the State of New York. The Long Island Pine Barrens is rife with recreational opportunities.  The preservation of these woodlands offer a host of activities including, hiking, boating, fishing, riding, camping, swimming and so much more. The Long Island Pine Barrens weren’t just preserved to protect drinking water and to preserve habitat – They’re also a whole lot of fun!
